After editing, the book takes on its visual form in the collaborative process of book cover design. Because first impressions count, I work closely with you to turn your vision into reality, to create a book cover that captures your story and makes your readers want to know more.
The book cover represents some facet of the story that will entice the readers to open the cover and turn the pages. It could be a symbol, a photograph of a character, or location. It could be abstract art or simply the name of the book. You’re limited only by your imagination.
Research other books in your genre and see what’s selling well and what appeals to you. Take into consideration color, patterns, any emotions that you feel and convey those to the designer.
The designer will ask questions about the story and characters to get a feel for your book and may come up with cover ideas on her own. If you have a specific idea or image in mind, let the designer know.
