Thursday I saw my healing coach and received some great back exercises. Still, my recovery was not immediate. So I sent Marie an email saying I didn’t think I could go. She phoned to offer me support and strongly encouraged me to come, even if just for a few hours. We talked about possible solutions – Reiki, tapping, affirmations. I segued into the new affirmation I was supposed to write every day for my business: I’m a success. And she suggested that I really empower the affirmation. Instead of simply saying “I’m a success” try saying “I’m an amazing, powerful, and energetic success.” I told her I’d consider it, all the while thinking “Thanks, but I’m not going to do what you say because I’m doing it the way my healing coach told me.”
I got off the phone determined to work on my affirmation and dug it out. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it’s not “I am a success.” It’s “I openly and willingly receive from others.” Hah! So much for receiving openly and willingly. Think I need to practice that a bit?
Writing that affirmation allowed me to move into the space that created the opportunity for me to attend the Landmark event. Without that small movement I would have denied myself an amazing morning full of openness, sharing, discovery, and love. Much, much more than I expected from the original invitation.
Writing is about self-expression. Writing is about the little things that happen in life. Paying attention to the details around you. My affirmation is a small thing, but what a significant impact it’s making. Are there little things in your life that make an impact? What does your heart say about them?
